Aimed at next-generation researchers, this workshop is co-hosted with the Inter-University Center for Japanese Language Studies (IUC) and held twice a year, generally on an in-person basis.
The workshop offers a useful forum that gives practical guidance primarily for developing research projects based on pre-modern Japanese texts. The content includes general introductions to the handling of various pre-modern texts, explanations of survey and usage methods for primary-source materials, and advice on how to profitably use the NIJL databases and other similar resources.
