The Tesshinsai Collection is the largest collection of the Tales of Ise in the world; around 1,000 works were avidly collected by the late Shinji SERIZAWA, former president of Sanwa Tekki Corporation, and his wife, over a period of 40 years, and donated to us. The Tales of Ise is not only a work of classical literature, but also a foundation for the establishment of Japanese culture. In this exhibition, around 90 works are presented in order to show the public the cultural potential of classical literature.
